Oh Target. I remember it kind of becoming a joke with some friends that if they ever wondered where I got something they would just assume Target. And 99% of the time they were right.
I still love Target, especially when it comes to clothing. I love the affordablility and the variety of styles they carry. Anyway I decided to grab a few pieces from their current collection and try them on and share my thoughts about each piece.
A couple of quick notes: the shorts that you see in the header pic aren’t in this try on. They fit, but I probably should have sized up (they of course were out of the next size). Also, my legs are completely white right now, so that wasn’t very cute.
The black jeans I’m wearing in some of the pictures are mine. They are Rockstar jeans from Old Navy which are some of my favorites. (I also styled them here).
Finally, everything I tried on was in my regular sizes.

The Gingham Shirt
I was first attracted to this shirt because of the gingham pattern; I enjoy looking like a picnic table in the spring and summer. It also looked just like a pair of pants at Target (which is what I really wanted to try on) but they were out of my size.
If you have a larger chest, you know the struggle of button down tops and pulling around the chest area. This one wasn’t too bad, but it did happen. You could always size up from your regular size, though I already had extra room in the sleeves, so going up a size could have been too much for me.
If the temps are still cold where you are, I think this shirt could be really cute layered with a vest, cardigan, or sweater. I do think its a really cute shirt, it just didn’t work for me.
The Pink Pants
I’ve had my eye on these jeans since they first came out. I knew this was one of those things I was going to HAVE to try on because of my past experience with pale pink jeans.
A few years ago I tried on a super cute pair of blush jeans, and I looked naked. Something about the color is too close to my skin tone, and with a lot of pants being a skinny fit it just didn’t work. I thought these jeans *might* be okay because they are techinically “peach”. Well I still felt like they gave my legs a naked look.
I’ve seen other bloggers wearing these jeans and they are adorable, but again, just another thing that didn’t work for me.
The Green Shirt
The green top was the only thing I ended up purchasing. I was actually surprised at how flattering it was, because it looked pretty boxy on the hanger. I think it may be because of the tie at the waist, and that it helps to draw your eye in. Whatever it is, the top is super cute!
I can’t find this exact color top on Target’s website 🙁 Here it is in a different color and I’ll try to update the post if the top shows up online.
I also grabbed a couple of pairs of earrings lately so I thought I would also include those. I’ve really been loving the Sugarfix line for spring and I have my eye on a couple of other pairs too. I love the look of tassel earrings but I don’t want any that are so long they hit my shoulders. These black and white earrings are perfect because the tassels are sort of contained.
The A New Day hoops are similar but a simpler look. They also come in silver, if that’s what you prefer.
