I love mascara. When you hear those questions of “If you could only use one beauty product for the rest of your life, what would if be?” mascara would be my answer. So anytime a new mascara comes out, or I revisit an old favorite, I’m always excited to check it out. I recently repurchased what I think is the best drugstore mascara and also grabbed the new lash primer of the same line.

L’oreal Lash Paradise mascara is not new, but the Lash Paradise Primer is. I used the mascara earlier this year, and loved it, so I decided to give it another go. Lash Paradise has been compared to a certain high-end mascara in similar pink packaging, but honestly, I think L’oreal’s is so much better! The primer is new and marketed as being “Millennial Pink” instead of the typical white lash primer. Kind of gimmicky, but I was intrigued.
L’oreal Lash Paradise Mascara Alone
When I’m looking for a mascara, I want something with all of the promises: longer, thicker, more defined lashes. I want my lashes to look as false lash-like as possible without having to wear false lashes (I love the drama of falsies, but not the effort it takes to wear them). I also always go for the waterproof formulas of mascaras because they hold curl incredibly well on my very straight lashes.
Lash Paradise mascara alone is quite buildable. This mascara gives me longer, thicker lashes, and I feel like I get that false lash effect. When I was wearing the mascara recently I had someone tell me I was looking dolled up. That day I was only wearing my normal face makeup (foundation, powder, blush) and the mascara. I took it as a compliment.

Lash Paradise Primer
To be honest, I don’t typically wear mascara primers. I have used them before, especially when they are part of a double-ended mascara, but they’re not part of my day-to-day routine.
As I mentioned, the primer is marketed as being “millennial pink”. It does have a slight pink tint verses typical white primers, but you obviously won’t notice this once you put mascara over it.
I think the primer does a good job of adding length. If you have really short lashes, you may want to look into this, but if your lashes are average to long, I’m not sure that it’s worth the extra time and money.
The packaging says to let the primer dry before putting on mascara. As the primer dries, I noticed my curled lashes drooping. You obviously can re-curl your lashes, but I never feel like my lashes look as good when I do this.
Overall, I probably won’t repurchase the primer. I don’t feel like it does enough for my lashes, and I actually think my lashes look prettier with just the mascara alone.

Have you tried L’oreal Lash Paradise mascara or primer? Let me know what you think of it. I’d also love to hear what your favorite mascara is. Let me know in the comments!
