The last time I did a try on post it was quite different from this one. Then I was in the dressing room snapping mirror selfies. This time, though, most of the pieces I’m sharing were ordered online. I decided it would be fun to style the new pieces as I would actually wear them out and about. The first two looks are a bit dressy and the last is more casual. In fact, I wore the final look to an outdoor fair.
I’m also including this post in my “How to Wear Color” series. Each of these looks is colorful and it just happened that each one revolves around a specific color (pink, yellow, and blue).
One last note before I get into the outfits: all of the pieces from H&M are under $25!

Pink on Pink
I’ve always really loved eyelet and lace so when I saw this dainty little top I knew I needed it. The skirt I’m wearing is actually from J Crew Factory and has another one of my favorite details: scallops.
The bag is a fun twist on the round straw bag. It’s pink! I think it perfectly works with the girly look of this outfit.

Yellow Dress
This next outfit was the most simple to put together but is still elegant. It basically just consists of the dress, shoes, and bag. You could add more accessories if you like (I’m actually wearing some statement earrings though my hair is covering them). The dress itself has such a pretty pattern that it can really stand on it’s own. Plus I love the yellow. I don’t wear a ton of yellow so it’s always nice when I can work it in to my wardrobe.

Blue and White
This last outfit is my most casual and what I like to call my “human ginger jar” look (also I totally didn’t come up with that name, I got it from here). I also didn’t come up with the idea of layering a graphic tee under a dress or romper – I’ve seen it quite a bit on the ‘gram.
I’ve actually never worn a romper (other than probably my baby days), and after finding this one, I think I’m into them! I love the blue floral pattern of this one, which I already mentioned reminds me of a ginger jar. I’ve been loving blue and white everything lately so of course it ended up in my clothes!
The t-shirt underneath is a Uniqlo find. I love their graphic t’s, especially the Disney ones! This one says “Life is a Magic Carpet Ride”. I’m still obsessed with Aladdin so this was pretty necessary.
Which outfit is your favorite? I’d also love to know what you think about this kind of try on post. I’ll probably still do an in the dressing room post from time to time, but if you like this style I’ll incorporate it too!
I love the yellow dress!

Love all your outfits especially the last one. It’s so nice to see clothing on someone who has a similar body to mine 🙂
Thanks Briana!
