I decided to do this post a little different this time around. I used to share favorites pretty frequently, and I used to always share my monthly goals. Well this time around I thought I would combine them in a monthly recap of sorts. However, because I didn’t share any February goals I don’t have those to recap, but that will change going forward.
Anyway, let’s start with the favorites!

Colourpop Going Coconuts palette
I’ve been buying a lot of makeup so far this year and most of it has been from Colourpop. The Going Coconuts palette is one of Colourpop’s monochromatic 9 pan palettes in neutral brown shades.
This palette leans more neutral/cool toned which I think works better for my skin tone. The palette retails for $12 but I’m pretty sure I bought it with a discount because Colourpop does run a lot of sales.
So far I’ve only used it for very easy minimal looks and it is gorgeous. The shimmers in this palette are just so pretty. I can’t wait to try out a full glam look to really see what this palette can do.
Glossier Vinylic Lip in Blow Up
Glossier is another brand that I’ve purchased quite a bit from lately. I hadn’t tried any of the Glossier Play line yet so I decided to grab a few of the products. I’ve really been loving the Vinylic Lip in Blow Up.
The Vinylic Lip products are like a tinted gloss but with high impact color. They come in a click pen type container with a spongy applicator. The color Blow Up is what I would consider a wearable bright pink. Glossier describes it as candy pink.
I’m going through another New Girl phase. If you’ve never seen the show, it is about a girl named Jess (Zooey Deschanel) who moves in to a loft with three guys. The first two seasons are the absolute best and I’ve rewatched them so many times. After this the show kind of started going downhill but it still has plenty of funny moments.
Another reason this show is great because of the fashion. Zooey Deschanel just has the best clothes!
Truth: I’m a bad Harry Potter fan. I absolutely loved the series when I read it and I’m a big fan of the movies too. The thing is I haven’t read the series since the first time I read it, which was in high school.
I stated rereading the series this month. The first 2 books are free in kindle version if you have amazon prime which is amazing! I’ve actually lost track of my books 1 and 2 so it works out! There is a kindle app so it’s so easy to read on your phone. I’ve been doing this a lot.
If you don’t already have Amazon Prime you can get a free month to try it out! If you do already have Prime and want to read all of Harry Potter (and a lot of other books) for free, you can do this through Kindle Unlimited!
I’m currently reading Chamber of Secrets which was my least favorite book the first time around. I have to say I haven’t gotten quite as into it as I did with the Sorcerer’s Stone but I’m still trying to keep an open mind.
The first time I read Harry Potter, book 4, The Goblet of Fire was my favorite. What’s yours?
By this I mean sweatshirts similar to the one I’m wearing here. Sweatshirts that are a little bit girly and more put together looking than the average.
I love this look because I feel super comfortable without feeling sloppy. I’ve rounded up a few really cute sweatshirts in case you want to get the look to transition into spring!
I used to share monthly goals all the time and they were usually pretty serious goals. I decided to bring back this series in a more fun way. So instead of just sharing the serious goals I wanted to share some fun things I want to do this month too!
Participate in most of the March Disneybound Challenge
I previously wrote a post about Disneybounding but to sum it up quickly: it’s using clothes you already have, or clothes you can find at the average store, and using them to create a look inspired by a Disney character. I like to participate in this challenge because number 1 I love Disney, but 2. it helps me think a little more creatively about fashion and stretch out of my comfort zone a bit.
I’m saying that I’ll participate in most of the challenge for a couple of reasons. First, I don’t want to have to buy a bunch of stuff for this challenge, especially stuff that won’t get much use outside of the challenge. So if I can’t pull together a look I won’t. The other reason is because there are a couple of movies I haven’t seen so I’ll be skipping those days.
If you want to see the challenge list you can find it here on the Disneybound’s instagram account.
Double February’s blog traffic
February was a pretty good month for me blogging wise. Maybe it doesn’t seem like it because this is only the second post of the month , but there’s been a lot of behind the scenes work happening. And all of this has led to fairly good results that I want to keep up.
I have a week off of work during March so I’m hoping to really get into gear with blog work!
And something new…
In addition to sharing more fun goals (like the Disneybound challenge) I wanted to start sharing a goal we can all work on together. That way we can keep each other accountable throughout the month! Make sure you’re following me on Facebook and instagram because I’ll be doing check ins throughout the month there!
March’s group goal is spring cleaning! And more specifically cleaning out our closets.
If you want to get involved but don’t need to clean your closet pick another area to clean! And it doesn’t just have to be physical. Work on decluttering your virtual space in your inbox or organizing your computer’s desktop.
Let me know if you plan to join in! We’ve got a whole month so I think some major progress can be made!
Finally, let me know some of your favorites or goals for the month!
