Friday Faves and Links

Sharing is caring!

Bookshelf styling

Hey! It’s been a while. Lately it’s been hard to have a consistent schedule with being home all the time. I’m sure a lot of you can relate. Now I’m adjusting to getting back to work; I just went back Monday.

I have two HUGE Disney posts coming at you soon. They’re taking a little longer than I expected. Apparently I just can’t stop talking, or writing, when it comes to Walt Disney World.

Last weekend I did a little bookshelf shuffle, as seen above. I love creating little vignettes like this and will hopefully be sharing more soon!

In the meantime I thought I’d share some current favorites, and throw it back to last summer when I shared some of my favorite links from around the internet.

I sometimes use affiliate links on Thoroughly Contemporary. That means if you make a purchase through one of these links I make a small commission at no extra cost to you.

What I’m watching

Hamilton: Okay I’m obsessed. I’ve loved musicals for as long as I can remember, and when I was in high school I used to get to know a show from it’s soundtrack before ever seeing it. There are still some shows to this day that I’ve never actually seen but know songs from. Well as I’ve gotten older, I’ve decided that I want to go into shows fresh and experience it for the first time as a whole. All of this is to say that with the exception of hearing bits and pieces of songs, I really didn’t know Hamilton at all.

I was actually supposed to see the touring show of Hamilton in May which of course got cancelled. Right around the time I found out the show was cancelled, Disney announced Hamilton coming to Disneyplus. I was disappointed to miss the show live, but in a way I’m glad my first experience with the show was the film. When else are you going to get to see it with the original cast?!

New Girl: Every once in a while I start a New Girl binge, and right now is one of those times. I have so much love for this show, though I will say season 1 and 2 are the standouts of the show. I sort of tolerate the rest of the seasons because I love the characters and there are still funny moments. If you’ve never watched, it’s definitely worth a try, at the least the beginning seasons.

Beauty Favorite

Elf Retro Paradise Eyeshadow Palette: This might be the perfect summer eye shadow palette. Even though it’s very colorful, I’ve enjoyed lightly sweeping some of the more neutral shades over my lid for work days. On one of my days off I did a really fun look using the blue, green, and purple shades to do a sort of tie-dye mermaid eye.

Book Favorite

Prints Charming: I’ve already shared my love of coffee table books, and I’ve got another that I love. Prints Charming is the perfect decor book if you love color, pattern, and fun design. I absolutely love the design style of the authors, the design team know as Madcap Cottage. They are so creative and fabulous designers!

Links I’m Loving

I fell in love with Allie Provost‘s apartment when her designer, Shannon Claire, first shared images. Now her adorable studio was featured on Apartment Therapy.

The Everygirl rounded up shows to watch if you feel like you’ve already watched everything. I highly recommend Normal People, Little Fires Everywhere, and Euphoria.

Another home decor post. The Glitter Guide rounded up their favorite “weird and wonderful” homes. I love when design has a bit of quirkiness to it. Why not have fun with your space!

I just recently found the week of outfits series on Cup of Jo, and I just love it! Here is the most recent. Her lilac dress is just divine!
