Creating a Fall Capsule Wardrobe

Fall Capsule Wardrobe Outfit

Creating a capsule wardrobe has been something I’ve intended to do for quite some time now. With life being pretty upside down now, having more ease of dressing seems extra appealing.

If you haven’t heard of a capsule wardrobe, it is a smaller, curated collection of clothing pieces usually done seasonally. Typically around 30 pieces are used for a capsule, but you don’t have to be strict about this.

So far I’ve come up with twelve pieces I know I want in my fall capsule wardrobe. With these pieces I’ve already come up with ten outfits, and I’m sure there could be more.

The pieces I’m sharing here are the ones that I know without a doubt I want to be part of my capsule. I plan on doing a bit of a wardrobe evaluation very soon and seeing what else I can incorporate and if there is anything I need to buy.

Fall Capsule Wardrobe Outfit Idea Floral Blouse

Here is my fall capsule wardrobe so far

Tops

Floral blouse
Berry top
Light blue sweater – mine is old from Target, though this one is VERY similar
Striped top – I found mine on sale at Madewell, this one is a lot like it
A cozy cardi – I’m sharing this beige one, I may purchase something like this, but I do have a similar pink on already

Bottoms

Black pants
Jeans

A note on bottoms – I wear pants basically everyday to work. I have two pairs of black pants that I love wearing. I’m currently figuring out the rest of my bottoms because Covid weight gain is real.

Dress

This one is on its way to me right now

Shoes

Leopard flats
Black flats
White sneakers
Black Chelsea boots – don’t have these yet but I really want to add a pair to my wardrobe

I’ve been sharing one of my outfits throughout this post, and here are nine more!

Ways to wear pieces in a fall capsule wardrobe

I’ll update you on other pieces I add, and maybe even share some more outfit combinations!

Have you ever created a capsule wardrobe?

I love that your capsule collection has blue tones and some beautiful prints. I see them with black and khaki alot, but this really pops. 🙂
