Hey friends! Today I have five makeup products that I’ve been loving lately, and I think are perfect to keep using into spring!
I have to commend real beauty bloggers (which I don’t really see myself as, I just blog about makeup sometimes). Photographing makeup can be hard! Especially when it’s stuff you actually use. You have to clean that stuff! And excuse my imperfect manicure and the fact that I didn’t realize there was makeup on some of my fingers until after I took the photos. And I’m too lazy to retake them. Ha, I told you I wasn’t a “real” beauty blogger.
Anyway, I like makeup, and I like these products. I keep finding that drugstore brands keep getting better and better, that I really don’t find myself purchasing much high end makeup at all. If it’s a product I can’t live without, or something super unique, I’ll probably splurge on it, but right now I’m pretty happy with the drugstore!

Sleek Highlighting Palette in Solstice
This product isn’t new to my makeup collection, but it is one I’ve been using a lot more lately. It’s a great highlighter that you can really get that blinding highlight effect from. It has three powder shades and a cream highlight, which truth be told, I’ve never tried. I like that the powder products are in warm and cool shades, so I think this palette would work well for a lot of people. I actually will mix all of the colors together when I use this. This product is pretty powdery (hence the need to clean it) so if you don’t mind a bit of fallout, it’s a great one to add to your collection.
Makeup Revolution Conceal and Define Concealer
One of the reasons I first purchased
I have the third shade in this line (which is super rare for me) and it matches my skin tone pretty closely. The two lighter shades seem more like highlighting or brightening shades, as this concealer is marketed as being able to do highlighting and contouring as well. This does work really well for me, though I do probably need a lighter shade too for those days when my under eye circles are really crazy.
Maybelline The Matte Bar Palette
I don’t use tons of eye shadow anymore, so I guess it shouldn’t be surprising that my makeup collection was lacking good matte eyeshadows. But when I do want to do full eye makeup I was wanting to have a mix of mattes and shimmers to work with. Enter The Matte Bar Palette.
This palette is mostly neutral, which is great, but I like that there is a mix of some brighter shades, like a couple of pinks and an orange. I’ve also used the darkest brown shade on my brows, and I think it works nicely. These shadows blend well and have good pigmentation. I think you can actually create some really pretty eye looks using only this palette.
NYX Candy Slick Gloss in Jelly Bean Dream
This gloss has an interesting texture. It’s got some thickness but also feels watery. I like the color this gives off. This is a true gloss, so it’s not going to be super long wearing, but if you’re going for something shiny it’s nice.
Wet n Wild Liquid Catsuit in Flirt Alert
The thing that drew me to this product was the color. I tend to go for brighter or darker shades, but when I do want to wear lighter pinks, I didn’t really have anything in my collection. This lipstick is part of Wet n Wild’s Megalast line, and I think the staying power is okay. I find that lighter colors just don’t last as long as darker colors, because they don’t have any ability to stain.
I’ve actually mixed the NYX and Wet n Wild lip colors together, and I really like the effect it gives.
So those are the makeup products I’ve been into lately. What have you been loving? I’m always up for trying new makeup. Also have you tried any of my favorites?
the shades of those lip products are so pretty!
I love my wet n wild catsuit but it dries my lips a lot. I am gona try mixing the NYX gloss as you have suggested! Thanks for the tip!!
You’re welcome! The NYX gloss is pretty moisturizing so it should help!
Thanks for bringing these to my attention! I love finding great new make-up that doesn’t cost a fortune!
You’re welcome! I’m loving drugstore makeup right now!
I love NYX stuff!
