The St. Louis Art Museum

Visiting the St. Louis Art Museum

Recently I headed to the St. Louis Art Museum for a day with my mom. I’ve been to the museum several times throughout my life, but I think I always see something new during each visit. Part of this is because the works of art do change, but it’s also because there is just so much to see.

The Art Museum

The St. Louis Art Museum is a great place to get a bit of an escape. Whether it’s a hot summer day and you need to cool off, or you just need to get out of the hustle and bustle of the city, the art museum is the place to go. It’s almost always quiet and peaceful. Even on crowded days it doesn’t feel that way because it’s such a big place.

While you’re there you’ll find works of art from the Renaissance to Modern times, and everything in between. There are also works of art that you may not expect to find, for instance furniture and Egyptian mummies.

The art museum is somewhere I would always recommend to a visitor to St. Louis. The art museum sits in Forest Park along with other St. Louis staples like the zoo, Jewel Box, and Missouri History Museum, just to name a few. You could easily make a day or two from just exploring the attractions in Forest Park.

Like many of the other St. Louis attractions, admission to the art museum is completely free! They do have special exhibits that are an extra charge, but if you are able to go to the museum on a Friday it is free as well.

Outfit

Whenever I head to the art museum, I do try to dress up at least some. This day, I guess you could say I went dressy-casual because it was brutally hot.
